CHILDHOOD

GROWING UP IN THE GRÀCIA NEIGHBORHOOD

I grew up between the squares of Barcelona and a small town in Aragón.

There, as a child, I would escape to my grandfather’s workshop, who was a cabinetmaker by profession. I stained the saw with grease, cut pieces of wood and hammered nails into my first creations, barely realizing what I was feeling.

THE SEARCH

THEN, AN ABYSS APPEARS

An existential period, not without milestones, in search of my essence.

Graduated in Business Administration and Management, with a postgraduate degree in International Cooperation.

Warehouse manager, salesperson, tax advisor, insurance broker, data analyst, humanitarian work, among many other professional experiences. Around the world: 2 years traveling through Asia, Oceania, and South America.

THE RETURN

BACK IN IBIZA, FROM ENTERTAINER TO PRODUCER

From single to father. Overnight. Twenty-three years later, I returned to using my hands to recover what I had been searching for during two-thirds of my life. And it was precisely in my hometown, just a few meters from my grandfather’s workshop, where I reconnected with my hands.

Between seasons, I was renovating an old family house until I realized it no longer made sense to use my hands only in winter.

It was then that I enrolled at the Escola d’Arts d’Eivissa, where I studied Artistic Blacksmithing and Cabinetmaking.

THE SOURCES

IN LOVE WITH MY BARCELONA ROOTS

Modernism was, and to a great extent still is, my favorite artistic side.

I grew up between Parc Güell and Passeig de Gràcia. I remember that as a child I played at the Sagrada Familia, climbing its towers until the stairways became so narrow that I no longer fit.

From Modernism, I retained its playful spirit; from Gaudí, the reverence for nature.

INSPIRATION

CONEXIÓN CON MARCEL DUCHAMP

Duchamp, creator of contemporary art, an innovator like the creators of many artistic disciplines, yet transgressive like no other, both in the concept and in the practice of art.

He is the creator of the “ready-made” concept, which introduces everyday, manufactured, and obsolete objects, giving them a second meaning in their existence and elevating them to the category of art.

It was through Duchamp, during the process of creating Circ du Marçal, that I realized what he artistically meant to me.

READY MADE AS A PHILOSOPHY OF LIFE

A license for creativity in which the raw result works together with the refined finish. A combination of elements. A symbiosis between the new and the old. A fusion between aesthetics and the environment. A submission to the material.

Ready Made Ibiza was born with the vision of transforming conventional projects into artistic projects, adding this additional value to the functionality of the element itself.

The result is an intimate work, as the client is present in every stage of the process, and it is unique.
